Default Intake cleaning

when i took the silencer off i saw a black goo build up on the TB, and was wondering the best way to clean all of that.

figure that goo stuff is also in the intake manifold and possibly the intake tube. intake cleaner?

DOUBLE FAIL....

FAIL is not spelt FALIL and unless youve got a JDM motor the TPS does not come off easily because the USDM TPS has the head of the screws holding it in broken off to prevent tampering with the TPS position

I'm not sure where you guys are getting your info from. You don't need to remove the TPS to clean the TB. If it's lightly funky you can clean it with brake parts cleaner, B12 Chemtool, carb cleaner, etc. with a "spray and wipe" method. If it's really nasty, you should remove the MAP sensor first, remove the TB, hose it down real good, and then replace it with a new gasket.

In either case there is no need to replace the TPS. Just don't immerse it in cleaner and you will be fine.
